Overview:

Are you an avid collector or a serious investor in Aboriginal Art? The first rule when collecting Aboriginal art is to spend time where it’s created.
The ‘Collect Aboriginal Art’ programme is offering art buying and investing trips to some of the most remote locations Australia has to offer. The tour focuses on the art of Arnhem Land in the Northern Territory, visiting art centres at Oenpelli, Maningrida, Yirrkala and Elcho Island. All of the centres visited are located in isolated Aboriginal communities generally difficult to access by road with entry by permit only. We provide travel in a comfortable twin engine aircraft and organize all required entry permits, excellent accommodation and meals. You will be visiting and buying direct from community art centres that nurture and develop local talent.

Day one – Sunday Arrive Darwin (own arrangements), transfer from airport to Skycity Resort or similar. Dinner is at your own expense.

Day two – Monday Breakfast included. Private car transfer to Darwin General Aviation airport. Take a twin engine charter flight to Oenpelli in Arnhem Land. Take the Injalak Hill rock art tour with a local Aboriginal guide to discover beautiful sandstone caves featuring the ancient remnants of Aboriginal dwellings and striking rock paintings. Visit the art centre and enjoy a picnic lunch. Late afternoon fly to Peppers Seven Spirit Bay Wilderness Lodge. Transfer from the private airstrip to the Lodge. Check in and enjoy dinner at their award winning restaurant.

Day three – Tuesday Breakfast at Seven Spirit Bay before your transfer to the airstrip for a flight to Maningrida. At Maningrida Arts and Culture, spend time visiting the art centre and museum. Picnic lunch included. Return late afternoon to Seven Spirit Bay for dinner and overnight.

Day four – Wednesday Breakfast at Seven Spirit Bay. Transfer to the airstrip and fly to Yirrkala (Gove), visiting the Buku Larrnggay Mulka art centre, museum and Knowledge Centre there. Picnic lunch on the beach and then fly to Elcho Island to visit the local art centre before returning to Seven Spirit Bay for dinner and overnight.

Day five – Thursday Breakfast at Seven Spirit Bay, then check out and transfer to the airstrip for the return flight to Darwin, arriving at approximately 11.00am.

Additional Comments:

If you wish, you can choose to stay on at Seven Spirit Bay after the tour – just let us know.
For those who are keen to explore further, we can also arrange tours and accommodation in other areas of the Northern Territory such as Kakadu National Park, Litchfield Park, Darwin, Katherine, Alice Springs, Ayers Rock and beyond.
